Frequently Asked Questions
We source our 100% grass-fed and finished tallow from trusted farms
across Idaho and Montana, prioritizing quality, consistency, and
responsible sourcing.
We use organic ingredients wherever possible - from our fats and oils to
our essential oils. Some components, such as mineral clays, cannot be
certified organic by definition, but they are naturally occurring and
thoughtfully chosen for their function and quality. Our focus is always
on sourcing the best, most responsible ingredients available, and
organic comes first.
While we do not make medical claims or state that our soaps cure or
prevent acne or eczema, the ingredients used in our Tallow and Pine Soap
are thoughtfully selected with sensitive and problem-prone skin in
mind. Many of our customers have shared that these bars have made a
noticeable difference for them, particularly when dealing with acne- or
eczema-prone skin.
Sodium hydroxide, commonly called lye, is an
essential ingredient used in traditional soap-making. It’s what allows
oils and fats to transform into real soap through a process called
saponification. Once that process is complete, no lye remains in the finished bar - it has been fully converted into soap and glycerin.
In short, lye is necessary to make soap, but it is not present
in the soap you use on your skin. Every bar we make is properly
formulated, cured, and tested to ensure it’s safe, gentle, and ready for
everyday use.
Yes. Our soaps are made with gentle, thoughtfully chosen ingredients and
are commonly used by families with children of all ages. Because every
child’s skin is different, we recommend starting with a small amount and
avoiding contact with eyes.

Yes. All of our products are formulated, crafted, and packaged in the Idaho.
We focus on traditional soap made with real fats, purposeful ingredients, and small-batch methods. Rather than offering endless products and scents, we refine a focused lineup designed to perform well, feel good on skin, and hold up to everyday use.
Tallow closely resembles the natural oils found in healthy skin and creates a creamy, conditioning lather. It allows soap to cleanse effectively without leaving skin feeling tight or stripped.
Coconut-based soaps provide a brighter, more cleansing wash and are great for daily use or normal to oily skin. Tallow-based soaps create a creamier, more conditioning lather and are often preferred by those with dry or sensitive skin.
